The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to establish the terms and conditions regarding the use of personal data obtained during the use of the Petosfer Mobile and Web Application ("Petosfer") (operated via Petosfer.co) and/or received from third parties. Terms not defined herein shall be interpreted in accordance with the definitions in the Terms of Use and Membership Agreement. By accepting the Membership Agreement, Users are deemed to have accepted this Privacy Policy. Additionally, this policy serves as an informative document regarding the processing of personal data, even outside membership relationships.

Below is essential information about the protection of personal data shared with Petosfer. Petosfer presents the following explanations to fulfill its obligation to inform under Article 10 of the Turkish Law on Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 ("KVKK") for customers and third parties using our website and/or mobile applications. Petosfer reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy in line with legislative changes.

Petosfer continuously innovates through technology investments to provide better services to Users in the digital space. To achieve this goal, Petosfer processes Users' personal data within the scope and conditions detailed below.

How Data is Collected

Petosfer collects personal data to operate more effectively and deliver the best user experience. Data is collected through the following methods:

  1. Data You Provide Directly: Personal data voluntarily provided by Users before or during the use of Petosfer.co for service fulfillment. This includes all personal data shared by Users (e.g., name, contact details, ID information, survey responses, demographic data, and content information).

  2. Data Obtained During Platform Use: Data collected via software or technological tools related to Users' habits while using Petosfer's services (e.g., location data, preferences, interests, and usage patterns).

  3. Cookies & Behavioral Advertising:

    • Petosfer may associate a User's behavior (even for non-members) with a cookie for online behavioral advertising and marketing.
    • Metrics such as page views, visit duration, and conversion rates may be used for remarketing lists.
    • Users may later see targeted ads on Petosfer or other sites in the Display Advertising Network based on their interests.
    • Google Ads may place/read cookies or use web beacons for data collection when directing ads to Petosfer.

Types of Data Collected

Under KVKK No. 6698, the following personal data is processed by Petosfer, grouped as:

  • Name & Contact Info: Full name, phone, address, email, billing details, national ID number, ID copy, etc.

  • Authentication Info: Membership details, passwords, usernames, contact info, password hints, user/listing numbers.

  • Demographic Data: Birthdate, age, gender, occupation, preferred language, etc.

  • Usage Data & Preferences:

    • Device-collected data (e.g., property index usage, timestamps, search queries, viewed listings, prioritization options, visited websites, search terms, error logs).

  • Location Data: GPS/IP-derived location (used only with User consent for nearby listing searches in mobile apps).

  • Payment Data: Billing/payment details (name, address), invoices, payment receipts, transaction IDs, amounts, dates.

  • Content Data:

    • Documents verifying listing authenticity (invoices, ownership proofs).
    • Property authorization docs (deeds, licenses, certificates).
    • Listing info, membership details, notifications, feedback, error reports.

Purpose of Data Processing

Personal data is processed per KVKK No. 6698 for the following purposes:

  • Name & Contact Info: Internal evaluation, communication, user registration, lead generation, post-sales improvement, marketing, billing, fraud prevention.

  • Authentication Info: Account verification, error resolution, operational development.

  • Demographic Data: Promotions, analysis, communication.

  • Usage Data: Marketing, ads, risk management, service optimization.

  • Location Data: Audit, risk control.

  • Payment Data: Billing, accounting, payment provider processes.

  • Content Data: Portfolio management, audits, operational improvements.

Survey responses may be used for direct marketing, statistical analysis, and database building.

Why We Request ID Photos, Criminal Records & Residence Proof

  • The personal data we obtain may be stored and processed domestically or internationally in another country where Petosfer, its affiliates, subsidiaries, or service providers are located.

  • Personal data collected under this Privacy Policy will be processed in accordance with the provisions herein and applicable legislation of the country where data is stored and processed, including prescribed security measures.

Where is Personal Data Stored and Processed?

Personal data may be stored/processed domestically or abroad by Petosfer, affiliates, or service providers, adhering to local laws and security measures.

With Whom is the Data Shared?

Petosfer may share users' personal data and new data obtained using this personal data with third parties, including external service providers, cargo companies, law firms, research companies, call centers, complaint management and security software companies, agencies, consulting firms, printing sector companies, and social media platforms, for the purposes of fulfilling the Membership Agreement and Services, improving user experience (including enhancement and personalization), ensuring user security, detecting fraud, developing services, operational evaluation research, fixing errors, verifying user identities, and achieving any of the purposes stated in this Privacy Policy.

  • Payment processors: Additionally, users' Name and Contact Information may be shared with payment institutions for identity verification purposes, in accordance with the payment institution's framework agreement approved by the user during the payment process and the Regulation on Measures Regarding Prevention of Laundering Proceeds of Crime and Financing of Terrorism published in the Official Gazette No. 26751 dated January 9, 2008.

  • Cookie data: Personal data obtained through cookies placed on your device may be shared with third parties within the scope and purposes specified in this Privacy Policy.

  • Cross-border transfers: Petosfer may transfer personal data to third parties domestically or internationally within the categories mentioned above.

Your Rights Regarding Access to Your Data and Correction Requests

Users may apply to Petosfer to:

  • Learn whether their personal data is being processed,
  • Request information if their personal data has been processed,
  • Learn the purpose of processing their personal data and whether it is used in accordance with its purpose,
  • Know the third parties to whom their personal data is transferred domestically or internationally,
  • Request correction of their personal data if it is incomplete or inaccurate,
  • Request deletion or destruction of their personal data within the framework of the conditions stipulated by the relevant legislation,
  • Request that the correction, deletion, or destruction of their personal data be notified to third parties to whom the data has been transferred,
  • Object to the emergence of a result against them due to the analysis of their processed data exclusively through automated systems,
  • Request compensation for damages incurred due to unlawful processing of their personal data.

No fee is charged for processing requests as a rule. However, if the process incurs costs, a fee may be charged based on the tariff determined by the Personal Data Protection Board in accordance with Article 13 of Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data.

Our Measures and Commitments Regarding Data Security

Petosfer is committed to protecting your personal data securely.

  • To prevent unlawful processing and access to your personal data and to ensure the safekeeping of personal data, Petosfer implements technical and administrative measures using various methods and security technologies to provide an appropriate level of security. Additionally, your sensitive personal data is processed with sufficient measures determined by the Board.
  • Petosfer will not disclose the personal data it obtains about users to others in violation of this Privacy Policy and the provisions of Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data and will not use it for purposes other than the processing purpose. Petosfer declares that external service providers with whom users' personal data is shared under this Privacy Policy will also comply with the commitments stated in this article.
  • However, if links to other applications are provided through petosfer.co, Petosfer is not responsible for the privacy policies and content of these applications.
  • Users may also submit their requests in writing to the following address: Beşyol Mah. 1. İnönü Cad. No: 38 Daire: 1 Küçükçekmece/İstanbul. Users may also request the cessation of processing of their personal data under the Privacy Policy.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

Petosfer may update and change the provisions of this Privacy Policy at any time by publishing them on petosfer.co. Updates and changes to Petosfer's Privacy Policy will take effect from the date of publication on petosfer.co.

The user undertakes that the information subject to this Privacy Policy is complete, accurate, and up-to-date and that they will promptly update any changes to this information. Petosfer will not be liable if the user fails to provide up-to-date information.

Consent and Changes to the Policy

Petosfer aims to provide detailed explanations to visitors about the use of cookies and to inform them about cookie preferences. In this regard, closing the cookie information warning on petosfer.co and continuing to use the portal is considered as consent to the use of cookies. Visitors always have the option to change their cookie preferences.

Petosfer may change the provisions of the policy at any time. The updated Policy will take effect on the date it is published on petosfer.co.
